A fourth-generation Californian on his father’s side and second-generation on his mother’s, Greg Tanaka has lived -in the Bay Area since 1993. According to the Palo Alto Daily Post, Tanaka doesn’t consistently vote with either the slow-growth or the pro-housing contingents on the Palo Alto City Council, but he can be counted upon to blow the whistle on any spending he considers excessive. Shortly after his re-election for a second council term in 2020, as Palo Alto Weekly reported, Tanaka began making noises about a run for Anna Eshoo’s seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
