Julie Lythcott-Haims is an educator, author and public speaker originally from Lagos, Nigeria. She was elected to the Palo Alto City Council in 2022. In addition to working as a trademark lawyer for Intel and a trademark litigation associate with Cooley and Godward, she was the dean of freshmen and undergraduate advising for more than 10 years at Stanford University. Lythcott-Haims supports inclusionary and affordable housing. During her campaign she stated her intention to create a Youth Task Force on Mental Health by partnering with local schools.
