The Parks and Recreation Commission is dedicated to achieving a vibrant network of parks, recreation opportunities. and open space. Its five members advise the City Council on all parks and recreation matters, recommend annual budget provisions, and accept donations to the city for recreation or park purposes. The Commission also serves as the Urban Forestry Board, which hears appeals and makes recommendations regarding heritage tree and street tree concerns.
The Parks and Recreation Commission regularly meets the second Wednesday of every month from September through June at 7:00 p.m., with the exception of the January meeting which is held on the third Wednesday of the month.
