The Public Safety Advisory Board was established in 2020 to advise and make recommendations to the Mountain View City Council, city manager and police chief on public safety matters.

The board serves solely in an advisory capacity and acts as a liaison between the community and the police department. It also serves as a forum for public discussion of public safety matters, including community policing concepts, furthering MVPD engagement and transparency efforts, and identifying best practices.

The Public Safety Advisory Board generally meets at 7:00 pm on the fourth Thursday every other month.
