The City of South Lake Tahoe extends its deepest condolences to those impacted by the Davis fire in the Reno area. South Lake Tahoe residents and business owners experienced the challenges of evacuation during the Caldor wildfire threat in 2021 and many found accommodations and services in surrounding communities. In response to the ongoing fire, the City of South Lake Tahoe is collaborating with partners to do the same for those displaced.

​​​​​​The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approved, at its Sept. 10 meeting, the staff recommendation to spend $19.4 million on two new, innovative projects designed to shelter and house people exiting homelessness directly off the American River Parkway.

It was just a year a couple months ago that leaders from the City of Folsom and members of the Folsom Fire Department stood on bare dirt to officially break ground on the city;’s first fire station to be built south of highway 50. Now, city officials are gearing up that fire station into service by the end of the month.

Members of the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, along with local dignitaries, neighboring agencies, and community members, came together over the weekend to celebrate the decorated career and retirement of a local fire captain.

On Sept. 21, Folsom’s largest day of volunteerism returns, bringing together residents of all ages to complete projects throughout the city aimed at making a lasting, positive impact.

A recent audit shows that 82% of audited businesses in the City of South Lake Tahoe are abiding by the single-use water bottle ban that just went into effect on Earth Day this year.

Folsom and El Dorado Hills officials agreed last week the controversial, proposed Prima Drive emergency vehicle extension between Sacramento and El Dorado counties is no longer necessary.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY – In a vote this week, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approved a significant $340 million increase to the county’s 2024-25 fiscal year budget. The revisions bring the total budget to $9.2 billion, marking a substantial rise from the $8.8 billion originally approved in June.

The City of South Lake Tahoe has opened the application process to fill the City Council seat vacated by former Mayor Pro Tem John Friedrich. Mr. Friedrich submitted his resignation to the City Clerk on September 3, effective immediately.
