The Public Works Administrative Office oversees the various divisions within the Public Works Department, administers the departmental budget, attends to legislative affairs, helps process human resources paperwork, and monitors contracts with the federal government.

Other offices in the department cover the following aspects of the city’s infrastructure: Engineering, Environmental Regulations, Presidio Municipal Services, Harbor and Marina, Fleet Operations, Parking, Streets and Utilities, and Traffic Engineering.
