The Public Works Department is comprised of six divisions: Administration; Environmental Compliance; Facilities Maintenance; Forestry, Parks and Beach; Project Management; and Streets Maintenance.

For repair and maintenance concerns regarding public facilities, public rights-of-way, parks, urban forest, and Carmel Beach, call (831) 620-2070 to report the issue. Messages will be checked and responded to Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In the evenings, on weekends, or in the event of an emergency, call 911.
