The Planning and Building Division implements the general plan, developing long- and short-range planning objectives through proper application of the zoning ordinance. The staff involves citizens in the planning process and explains the city's policies and procedures.

The Building Division processes building permits for all construction within the city limits. This includes plan check and inspection services.
