The Greenfield Police Department is composed of 23 sworn officers, six civilian employees and one crossing guard. In addition, two volunteers donate their time to provide translation, crime analysis, and other services. The department also provides animal control services. According to the department’s FAQ, personnel assigned to the front desk are bilingual in Spanish and English., and volunteer translators can speak local dialects from the Mexican state of Oaxaca, including Trique, Mixteco Baja, Mixteco Central, and Zapotecas.
