The Greenfield Fire Department employs a group of firefighters who provide emergency response and fire prevention. It is an all-risk fire department, with more than 85 percent of the calls for service involving medical emergencies rather than fires. Most firefighters are licensed EMTs. Ambulance service is provided by AMR, a private company that provides both emergency and non-emergency medical transport service throughout much of Monterey County.
