Adam Kline is a longtime resident of Nevada City, which certainly added to his qualifications to serve on the City Council. Having literally grown up in town, when he ran for City Council he had lived in the area longer than any of his opponents. He has also been a small-business owner in the historic downtown area, meaning he came into the race understanding the city's economic and retail needs.
And he isn’t the first Kline to serve the region. In fact, his father, Richard Kline, was on the Grass Valley City Council in the 1980s.
Kline is a strong supporter of building back the local economy post-COVID—including the arts—having told The Union at the time of the election, “I strongly support our Cultural District designation, downtown courthouse, and arts organizations as economic drivers. Our film festivals, music venues, and street fairs create community and generate jobs and revenue.”
