Sarah Aquino was first elected to the Folsom City Council in November 2018 and has served as both mayor and vice mayor. She has also been on the Board of Education and curerntly represents Folsom on the Association of California Cities Aligned with Public Safety. Aquino is a licensed insurance agent at her family’s insurance agency, and is a native of Fair Oaks. Also part of her family history is public service; her father, Dave Cox, was in poltics for 22 years, with stints on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors and in the California Legislature.
After winning an at-large seat on the Folsom City Council in 2018, Aquino ran for reelection in the newly drawn Distrrict 3 seat on Nov. 3, 2022.
