Galt's Administration Department includes the offices of the city manager and city clerk, among other departments.

The city manager is appointed by the Galt City Council, and is responsible for the administration of all city affairs. This department ensures that all laws and ordinances are enforced and to make recommendations to the council in regard to improvements and the city's current financial condition.

The city clerk, housed in the same location as the manager, is elected every four years. The clerk records council meeting minutes, executes ordinances, and is the custodian of the city seal. This part-time position has no term limits.
