The Planning & Transportation Commission's primary responsibilities include making recommendations to the City Council on the city's comprehensive plan regarding development, public facilities and transportation in Palo Alto. The seven members are local residents who are not employed by the city. They make recommendations to the City Council on zoning map and zoning ordinance changes, on appeals on variances and use permits, and on individual projects such as planned community zones or open space development. The commission also considers other policies and programs affecting development and land use in Palo Alto.
Meetings are broadcast on Cable TV Channel 26 and can be accessed on the Midpen Media Center website.
Meetings are held on the second and last Wednesdays of the month at 6 p.m.
