The Community Services Department offers dozens of urban and neighborhood parks, classes for adults and kids, 40 miles of hiking trails, a municipal golf course, art exhibits, and facilities for physical fitness.

The department is responsible for managing the Palo Alto Art Center, the Palo Alto Children's Theatre, the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo, the city's public art program, and the Palo Alto Baylands Golf Links.
