Sworn in as a new member of the Palo Alto City Council in January 2023, Vicki Veenker is the founder of Sibling Cities USA, a nonprofit organization that facilitates the pairing of cities to build cross-regional relationships. She obtained her law degree from Georgetown Law in 1998. In her law practice, she provides strategic representation to parties involved in IP disputes and has served as a mediator for over a decade. Her priorities as councilmember, according to her campaign, are elevating Palo Alto’s public schools and  parks, with a focus on innovation culture.
