On March 21, 2023, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 1180-23, disbanding the Board of Building Code Appeals.
Prior to that, the commission included five members appointed by the council who used their experience in building construction to make decisions in all appeals related to construction issues, including interpretation of building codes.
