A fixture on the Gilroy City Council starting in 2005, Dion Bracco has won reelection in 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022. During his most recent run, he told the Gilroy Dispatch why he was running again: “At this moment, the Gilroy City Council is carefully balanced between common-sense members and those who support a more radical agenda. I endorse traditional Gilroy values that embrace faith, family and work. I oppose the agenda of political extremists who promote policies that have created a tax, crime and homelessness nightmare in other parts of California.”
First Elected: November 2005
Day Job: Business owner, CEO of Bracco's Towing and Transport, Inc
Notable quote: "As a fourth-generation resident, parent, grandparent, and local business owner (Bracco’s Towing), it has been an honor to serve you as a member of the Council and as Mayor Pro-Tem. I also serve on the Boards of Gilroy Gardens, South County Regional Waste Water Authority, Santa Clara County Library District Joint Powers Authority, Gilroy Gang Task Force, and the Gilroy Historic Heritage Committee. My record reflects my priorities." —Dion Bracco, 4me2win
