Francisco Estrada was elected to the Watsonville City Council for the first time in 2018. He previously worked as a program officer at the Pajaro Valley Community Trust, a healthcare nonprofit that promotes a holistic approach to health and wellness in the community. His focus was working with diabetic people. Estrada also has diabetes. Estrada also worked as an adjunct history instructor at Hartnell College in Salinas, Calif. Estrada was born in Watsonville, the son of immigrants from Mexico. He attended UC Santa Cruz and earned a graduate degree from San Jose State University.
