Ben Aguilar was born and raised in Grass Valley. His previous public activities include spending four years on the Grass Valley Planning Commission, chairing it in 2017. Aguilar volunteers with many local non-profit groups. A graduate of Sonoma State University, he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is currently enrolled in the Nevada County Community Leadership Institute.


First appointed: March 10, 2015. He was elected to a full term in November 2018.


Day job: Aguilar manages his family’s A&A Air Conditioning Heating & Sheet Metal, which has been in operation for 55 years.


Committee, board and commission assignments: Nevada City Local Agency Formation Commission, Economic Resource Council, Sister City Program, Transportation Commission (alternate), Transit Services Commission (alternate), US Air Force Beale Base Liaison (alternate), EDBG/Business Loan Advisory Board.
