Truckee Donner Public Utility District is once again hosting its Carbon Bingo Sweepstakes. For the fourth year, TDPUD electric customers can be entered to win a grand prize if they make sustainable lifestyle changes to help conserve energy and water. 

The Truckee Donner Public Utility District board of directors met for its April meeting and approved new account management tools for customers, accepted new funding from grants and insurance reimbursement for training and operations, and recognized staff for their hard work, both on the job and at the recent Lineworkers Rodeo. 

The Truckee Donner Public Utility District board of directors approved several key initiatives at its March meeting, including approving a power cost adjustment credit to electric customers, a new bill round-up program, an updated MOU with IBEW Local 1245 and adopting a resolution outlining the impacts that federal funding cuts will have locally on wildfire mitigation and readiness.  

Truckee Donner Public Utility District was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The award was for TDPUD's annual comprehensive financial report for the 2023 fiscal year. This is the fourth year in a row that TDPUD has received this award. 

The Town of Truckee, Tahoe Truckee Unified School District,  Truckee Donner Public Utility District, Tahoe Forest Health System, Truckee Tahoe Airport District, North Tahoe Fire Protection District, the California Highway Patrol and the Truckee Chamber of Commerce are holding the second year of Truckee North Tahoe Tech Teens (TNT Tech Teens), a workforce initiative focused on promoting the diverse range of tech-related jobs available to Truckee and Tahoe students.  

Last month, Truckee Donner Public Utility District's board of directors approved the creation of the TDPUD Future Workforce Scholarship Program. The scholarships target both college-bound high school seniors and local students interested in pursuing the trade and vocational skills that make electric and water utilities function. 

The Martis Valley Groundwater Basin stands as one of the region's most valuable natural resources, providing mountain-filtered water to local communities. Recognizing its importance, the Truckee Donner Public Utility District (TDPUD) is moving forward with an update to the Martis Valley Groundwater Management Plan (GMP), ensuring the long-term sustainability and quality of this critical water supply.

The Truckee Donner Public Utility District (TDPUD) Board of Directors met on Wednesday, Feb. 5, to discuss initiatives including the Martis Valley Groundwater Management Plan (GMP) and efforts to expand broadband, or high-speed internet, access in the community.

Truckee Donner Public Utility District held the first board meeting of the year on Jan. 15, which was the first meeting since the November election. Directors Courtney Murrell and Steve Randall joined the board as newly-elected members, while director Jeff Bender won re-election to his seat. Director Christa Finn was elected board president by her fellow directors, and director Tony Laliotis was elected board vice president.

At Truckee Donner Public Utility District's Nov. 6 board of directors meeting, the board approved the submission of the 2023 Power Source Disclosure Report and Power Content Label, and approved agreements for leases in Truckee Regional Park to enable the development of the new Truckee Library and Rocker Memorial Skate Park.

Voters in Nevada County will elect or re-elect three board members to the Truckee Donner Public Utilities District board this November. 

Truckee Donner Public Utility District named a newly-built water pump station the Joseph "Joe" R. Aguera Pump Station, in recognition of Aguera's 37 years of commendable service.

At Truckee Donner Public Utility District's July and August board of directors meetings, the board approved contracts needed to deliver on crucial capital projects, authorized the annual membership in the Truckee Tahoe Workforce House Agency, adopted the second quarter power charge adjustment, and held a workshop on the TDPUD's mid-year financial review.

At Truckee Donner Public Utility District's May board of directors meeting, the board approved an electric bill credit, approved a crucial water infrastructure maintenance project in Tahoe Donner, and held a workshop to review TDPUD's new Emergency Operations Plan.

Wildephor Consulting is releasing a report of their 18-month biomass/bioenergy feasibility study assessing the viability of using locally sourced biomass as an alternative to onsite decay and expensive disposal methods.
