The Truckee Donner Public Utility District is governed by a five-member Board of Directors, elected by the voters in the district to serve staggered four-year terms. Board meetings are open to the pubic and are also televised by Truckee Tahoe Media and live on local Channel 18. Click here for more information on the meetings.

Truckee Donner Public Utility District held the first board meeting of the year on Jan. 15, which was the first meeting since the November election. Directors Courtney Murrell and Steve Randall joined the board as newly-elected members, while director Jeff Bender won re-election to his seat. Director Christa Finn was elected board president by her fellow directors, and director Tony Laliotis was elected board vice president.
The Truckee Donner Public Utility District, a cornerstone of the local community, capped 2024 with a series of significant achievements, laying the groundwork for a sustainable and resilient future. General Manager Brian Wright walked the Sun through a comprehensive look at the district's accomplishments, challenges, and aspirations, highlighting its role as a locally governed nonprofit dedicated to meeting the unique needs of Truckee residents.
At Truckee Donner Public Utility District's Nov. 6 board of directors meeting, the board approved the submission of the 2023 Power Source Disclosure Report and Power Content Label, and approved agreements for leases in Truckee Regional Park to enable the development of the new Truckee Library and Rocker Memorial Skate Park.
Voters in Nevada County will elect or re-elect three board members to the Truckee Donner Public Utilities District board this November.
