A veteran public servant, Margaret Abe-Koga served on the council for eight years before taking a break to manage the district office of Assemblymember Evan Low. Abe-Koga was raised in San Mateo by immigrant parents from Japan and moved moved to Mountain View in 1998, where she and her husband are raising two daughters who attend public school. Before getting elected to the council, Abe-Koga served on various city commissions. And prior to all that, she was a congressional aide to U.S. Congresswoman Anna Eshoo (1993-1999).
