The city clerk is appointed by the city manager and serves as liaison between the council and the community. All public records pertaining to official actions of the City Council and Redevelopment Agency are available in the City Clerk's Office. The office is the central source of public records as well as the historian for the city’s recorded history. The office publishes public notices, acts as filing officer for the Fair Political Practices Commission and the election officer for municipal elections, and serves as custodian of the city seal.
