Little Gems of the Sierra, a nonprofit Waldorf-inspired early childhood program, is expanding once again to meet the increasing demand for childcare in the Truckee-Tahoe region. Since its launch in 2020, the program has evolved to serve local families, most recently adding its first infant classroom and planning further growth to accommodate rising enrollment needs.

Soda Springs is a winter wonderland filled with fun for the whole family. For kids ages 7 and younger, the Planet Kids snow play area features tubing carousels, tubing lanes, snow volcanoes to climb, and more. Families can also enjoy 10 tubing runs at Tube Town, perfect for all ages. The resort opens on Nov. 27 for the 2024-25 season.
Youth development nonprofit, SOS Outreach, plans to award an estimated $45,000 in scholarships to families this winter season.
