TAHOE CITY, Calif. – The Tahoe City Downtown Association has launched its Bring Back the Boom fireworks fundraising campaign to bring Fourth of July fireworks back to Tahoe City in 2025! The community has spoken loud and clear – they prefer fireworks over drones. The fireworks shows are completely funded by donations.

For many young people in North Tahoe and Truckee, the towering mountains surrounding their hometowns can feel more like barriers than gateways to adventure. High costs, lack of equipment, and limited opportunities often prevent local youth from engaging in the outdoor experiences that define the region. SOS Outreach, a nonprofit dedicated to youth development through outdoor-based mentorship, is working to change that dynamic.

Adventure Mountain at Lake Tahoe is turning up the thrill with Night Tubing. Guests can now enjoy an exhilarating 2.5-hour tubing session under the stars, available on Friday and Saturday nights from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
“Despite our best efforts, we regret to announce that some activities for the 2025 Winter Carnival will be canceled. North Tahoe's trail network is set for a transformative expansion, thanks to a $9 million investment approved by the Placer County Board of Supervisors on Jan. 21. On Monday, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office reported that a man was in backcountry off Luther Pass for longer than expected and hadn't returned home, according to his wife. She found his car parked on SR89 and his body was found by his friends north of Waterhouse Peak. It was not yet retrieved due to unsafe conditions, according to Captain Michael Lansing.
The Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association (TAMBA) has announced the result of its 2024 End-of-Year Giving Drive fundraising campaign. Thanks to the exceptional generosity of the organization's donors, members, volunteers, and community partners, the campaign raised over $260,000 for Tahoe trails, exceeding its original $250,000 goal.
