Robert Anderson and Ellen Camacho were officially sworn in as the newest members of the LTUSD Board of Education. Additionally, Valerie Mansfield was sworn in for her second term, continuing her dedicated service to the school district. The Board also selected Lauri Kemper to serve as President and Jon Hetherton to serve as Clerk of the Board.
The City of South Lake Tahoe held its last City Council meeting of the year on Tuesday, Dec. 10. The start of the meeting involved welcoming David Jinkens and Keith Roberts to the chambers. The two are taking over Cristi Creegan and Devin Middlebrook's seats.

This year's election had issues with signatures sweeping the nation—in California alone this past Saturday, nearly 130,000 ballots still needed fixes from those who didn't enclose their ballot properly, forgot to sign, signed in the wrong place, or had signatures that didn't match their voter registration card. These corrections are known as "curing" and take time as voter registration offices reach out to voters to ensure their voice is heard in the election.
One of the most widely discussed topics on the ballot this election was Measure N. And though it would have needed a majority to pass as a citizen's initiative, the majority appears to reject it soundly.
