Lake Tahoe Historical Society is a group of volunteers preserving Tahoe's history.

Beginning in 1968, these volunteers gathered artifacts and started a small museum in the city of South Lake Tahoe, In 1983, the museum moved into the former county library; it was remodeled in 2009.
