Placer Food Bank assists residents of Placer, El Dorado and Nevada counties who are experiencing food insecurities. with nutritious food while advocating for hunger relief.

A certified member of Feeding America, the Food Bank has been distributing food since its inception in 1970 as the Community Resource Council. The organization was founded to provide services to low-income and needy individuals and families in Roseville and surrounding areas. In 1985, the council began to operate as a food bank. Soon after the drastic economic downturn in 2009, the need for Placer Food Bank services tripled. Since relocating to its present location in 2010, the Food Bank now distributes more than 6 million pounds of food each year to hunger-relief organizations.
