Dave Potter was elected to his second two-year term as mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea in 2020 on his birthday (November 3), garnering 73.62 percent of the vote. According to his Wikipedia page, Potter previously served on the Monterey County Board of Supervisors as the District 5 representative, and on the Monterey City Council. He was board member and chairman of the Fort Ord Reuse Authority, and board member and chairman of the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District.
Most recently, Potter was reelected in November 2022 for another two-year term.
Potter represents the council on the following entities: Monterey Peninsula Water Authority JPA, Transportation Agency for Monterey County, and Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau (alternate).
