The six-member board makes recommendations on such issues as library hours and policies, priorities for capital purchases, sites for new branch libraries, and complaints about library materials. Board members act as informal liaisons with the public and bring community concerns to the city librarian.
The board meets the fourth Monday of every odd-numbered month at 6 p.m. at the various libraries.
