The Development Services Department consists of four divisions. The Planning Division implements and monitors city growth and development policies and recommends action on development applications to the council, Planning Commission and Design Committee. The Building Division safeguards the public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, and maintenance of all buildings and structures. The Engineering – Land Development Division is responsible for the review, inspection, and acceptance of all improvements proposed within public right-of-way or easements. And the Code Enforcement Division enforces municipal, zoning, and building codes on public and private property.
