The Arts Commission promotes visual and performing arts in Auburn. Among the commission’s responsibilities: advising the Auburn City Council on selection and placement of public art; submitting an annual budget and recommending funding sources; collaborating with local visual and performing artists and organizations; and encouraging private initiatives in the arts. The commission has completed an art catalog that describes artworks in the public view. Copies can be viewed at the City Manager’s Office and are also offered for purchase ($20). Meetings are held the first Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. Unless held virtually, they take place in the Auburn City Hall, Room 10, at 1225 Lincoln Way.
