Councilmember Michelle Sierra-Sammons

LINKEDIN

Michelle Sierra-Sammons was appointed Nov. 27, 2023, to fill the seat held by elected councilmember Daniel Berlant, who left office when he was appointed as California’s State Fire Marshal. She is a former Auburn Union School District trustee and Planning Commission member who currently works for the Placer County Assessor’s Office.

In an interview with Auburn Journal, Sierra-Sammons said she was "humbled" to be selected. “There are a lot of possibilities, but there are also priorities,” she said. “I am confident with my council members we can make those right choices together.”

Sierra Sammons will hold office until the November 2024 election, when a successor will be elected for the remainder of Berlant’s term (through November 2026).
