Longtime resident Matt Spokely and his wife are raising two daughters who represent his family’s third generation of Auburnites. He has been involved in many school, community volunteer and youth sports activities, and in his leisure time he pursues competitive swimming and endurance activities. He is on the board of the Boys and Girls Club and Auburn Community Cancer Endowment Fund. Spokely is a civil engineer and owner of Wood Rodgers Engineering who has years of experience as a principal engineer in charge of planning, design and construction of many regional and community projects, including roadways, sewer systems, city infrastructure and business districts. Spokely served as Lincoln’s mayor in 2021.
