A lifelong resident, attorney/mediator Sandra “Sandy” Amara raised her children in Auburn and has maintained a law office in town since 1993. She has a long history of service to the community, aided by her training as an attorney, mediator, and educator. Her résumé includes serving as a trustee for the Auburn Union School District (1994-2006), where she used her experience as a mediator to resolve various issues involving the district. Amara also served on the Auburn Planning Commission (2014-18) and was a board member for Kidz Community and Right Hand of Auburn. Amara currently works as a mediator for the State of California, dealing primarily with special education issues.
