Elected to the Auburn City Council in November 2014, Daniel Berlant is a lifelong local. He graduated from Placer High School and his wife, Kristen, also grew up in Auburn. In 2001 he began a career with Cal Fire; since 2016 he has been an assistant deputy director, overseeing many of the state’s fire prevention programs. He is a founding member of the Auburn Community Service Day and served on the Board of Trustees for the Auburn Union School District.First elected: December 2014
