The city of Hollister is looking to give a large portion of San Benito Street a makeover to address speeding concerns.
A petition circulated by Hollister Guardians Action to rescind the 2040 Hollister General Plan appears to have obtained enough signatures to be considered by the Hollister City Council. The San Benito County Elections Office notified the city of Hollister that it predicts 2,902 of the signatures collected by the local activist group are valid.

Willow Landing—a new housing development touted by its developer as a tranquil home with convenient access to commercial amenities and urban opportunities—celebrated its grand opening in Hollister Feb. 1.
Food Truck Tuesdays will take place on San Benito Street between Sixth and Sevenths streets, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 4, and continuing through Tuesday, April 8, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.The following vendors are taking part in this event.
A San Diego developer has submitted plans for a project called Baler Place, which would provide affordable housing for very low income households. It includes two three-story buildings with 53 apartments at 340 Bridgevale Road in west Hollister, and is still in the initial planning phase.
