The City of South Lake Tahoe announced the addition of two state-of-the-art snowplows to its fleet, a significant investment aimed at enhancing snow removal operations and improving winter road safety for residents.
Phone scammers are posing as "AMBER Alert representatives", offering to "register" your children, according to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department's Facebook.
A one-story residence at 3515 Rancho Circle has been a concern of the city of South Lake Tahoe since 2022. Though it has stood since 1961, in the past few years, it has fallen into disrepair and has become a health and public safety concern.
New speed limits are now in effect on several sections of city streets within the City of South Lake Tahoe. The South Lake Tahoe Police Department will begin enforcing these changes to enhance road safety for all users.
Sustainability in South Lake Tahoe had a major win with the three-cart system in 2024, helping to further prevent food waste in the community. But Sara Letton, sustainability coordinator for the city of South Lake Tahoe, said that 2024 was primarily a year of planning for her. In the new year, the city will be upgrading several major facilities to make them more energy efficient, as well as installing more electric vehicle chargers, bringing the city closer to its sustainability goals.
