The Chief of Police is responsible for overseeing the entire Lincoln Police Department, including all units and department functions. The Operations Division includes Patrol, the department’s largest unit; Investigations, which conducts followups on reported crimes; and Communications, which handles calls from the public. The Support Division is composed of Records, Property and Evidence, Animal Control, and Citizen Volunteers.

The Police Department’s online reporting system can be used to submit reports of identity theft, lost property, theft from an unlocked vehicle, theft of property, and vandalism. Also online is the weekly crime summary.
