The City Treasurer acts as the general auditor of all municipal finances and chairs the Fiscal and Investment Oversight Committee, an advisory body to the Lincoln City Council on all financial, fiscal, and investment matters. The treasurer is an elected official who must run for office in a citywide race every four years.
