The Public Works Department is responsible for the environmental quality of water and wastewater, public utilities such as solid waste, transportation services, maintenance of public facilities and city vehicles, and administrative support services.

For missed garbage or green waste pickup, call the Public Works Department at (916) 434-2450 during business hours: Mon-Fri 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

For a weekend or after-hours emergency such as a water leak, sewer backup, or flooded street, call the Non-Emergency Lincoln Police line at (916) 645-4040 and the dispatchers will contact on-call Public Works personnel.
