The county government is overseen by a five-member elected Board of Supervisors, who serve four-year terms of office. When San Benito County was formed in 1874, it only had three districts. But after 1883, when the California Legislature established a uniform system that dictated five supervisorial districts, the county was redivided into five areas roughly equal in population.

On May 13, Celina Stotler stood before the San Benito County Board of Supervisors and asked for help. As the manager of Integrated Waste Management, she is leading the county’s effort to clear homeless encampments along the San Benito River.
In response to opposition from local farmers and community members, the Council of San Benito County Governments (COG) are considering slamming the brakes on ongoing environmental studies for its current Hwy 25 expansion plan while it analyzes different route options.Â
On May 12, San Benito County Sheriff’s Deputy Peter O’Day was giving BenitoLink a tour of the various encampments along the San Benito River in Hollister.
As part of its weekly “Story Time!” series, the San Benito County Free Library collaborated with the production team of San Benito Stage Company’s “Moana, Jr.” for a special reading on May 7 in the children's area at the library.
