Councilmember Rowena Turner


A Monte Sereno resident since 1986, Rowena Turner immigrated from the Philippines in the 1970s. A veteran of various Silicon Valley companies, including Intel Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Tandem Computers and Hewlett-Packard, Turner left the computer industry teach high school computer science and math to incarcerated youths. Turner says, “It is absolutely crucial that the council listens and responds to its citizens and stakeholders. Maintaining respect and trust is critical to providing a community that is safe and comfortable for the residents of Monte Sereno.”


First elected: December 2016


Alma maters: San Jose State University (master’s degree, education; teaching credential); San Francisco State University (bachelor’s degree, mathematics)
