The Planning Commission plays an integral part in determining future development in the city of Saratoga. Although final decisions on land use reside with the City Council, the planning commissioners advise the council to ensure that development is consistent with the environmental, social and economic goals set forth in the city's General Plan, as well as in line with applicable state laws and city ordinances. The commission also educates the public on land use and urban planning. Members are required by state law to file an annual statement of economic interests.
Regular commission meetings take place at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month at the Civic Theater, 13777 Fruitvale Ave.
