The founder and owner of Tahoe Wellness Center, billed as “Lake Tahoe's Original Locally Owned Cannabis Dispensary,” Cody Bass believes in sensible change with a perspective that reflects local residents and business owners. “We must prioritize our budget to align with the priorities of the city, Public Safety and Roads. Directing the increases in City Administration over to Public Works,” he told SouthTahoeNow.com. “I would like to see an overall shift in the Culture of the city, were the city works with existing businesses and properties rather than court corporations to build businesses where the corporate headquarters exist outside our City.”

Bass won reelection to the council in the general election on Nov. 8, 2022. He was selected by the council to serve as mayor pro tem on Dec. 13.

First elected: November 2018

Day job: Owner of the Tahoe Wellness Center

Notable quote: “The direction given by our community leaders should align consistently with the will of the voting public, along with every resident of our community, being thoughtful of the environment, working hard to support the local economy, and encouraging healthy growth and sustainable development far into the future.”
