Appointed by the city manager, the city clerk wears many hats. The clerk helps the City Council conduct its business and ensures open and fair government by preparing council agendas and minutes and maintaining a record of all council proceedings. As the elections official, the clerk conducts city elections and administers campaign and financial disclosure laws. Other key duties: coordinating appointments to the town’s commissions and citizen advisory boards, and providing support to these volunteers for their projects and events.
