Councilmember Liz Lawler

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Liz Lawler attended Marlborough School and graduated from UC Berkeley in 1987 with a B.A. in political science. While at Berkeley, she met her husband, Greg, and they headed back to Southern California, where Lawler was very active in fundraising for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and other volunteer work. She also obtained her real estate license. In 2013, Lawler and her family relocated to Monte Sereno and she soon became involved with the community, serving on the newly formed Better Streets Commission. When she ran for the council, Lawler said on her campaign website, “As a residential-only city, we have unique challenges that face us, including fulfilling our multi-family housing requirements set by the state, to address the California housing crisis. I believe together we can find a creative, long-term, sustainable solution to this and other issues, and will work diligently to that end.”
