Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator John D’Agostini has a vision statement and knows how to use it: “A modern approach to traditional law enforcement values; total enforcement on crime and criminals; total care for victims, witnesses and the community; total professionalism, through training and by example.” According to a biography he posted during his 2010 campaign for the sheriff’s office, D’Agostini is a fourth-generation resident of El Dorado County; his grandfather served on the Board of Supervisors in the 1960s and his father was a Pioneer Union School District trustee.
