A proposed industrial development, including a sawmill and wood processing facility, has elicited concern among local residents.

The Nevada County Assessor's Office has certified the 2024 Nevada County Assessment Roll, which reflects the value of all taxable property in Nevada County and provides a comprehensive view of the strength of the local real estate market.

On July 10, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors approved the Good Neighbor Agreement between the USDA, Tahoe National Forest and the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services for a decade-long collaboration to advance county-wide fuels reduction and forest health initiatives. 

The Nevada County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a $387.7 million budget for fiscal year 2024/2025 to fund essential services while maintaining a healthy $40 million in general fund reserves given ongoing economic uncertainty.

The fiscal year comes to an end on July 1 and the Nevada County Board of Supervisors are expected to approve the proposed final budget for 2024 — 2025 totaling approximately $387,709,380 following a public hearing.

As part of the ongoing efforts to enrich community involvement in the development of the new Truckee Regional Library, the Core Partners (Nevada County, Town of Truckee and Friends of the Truckee Library) are excited to announce a series of in-person engagement events throughout June and July, inviting residents to contribute their ideas and feedback toward the design of the new library.
